ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

Welcome to B & T Rides.  Started in 2008, Bryan and Tanis Semeschuk created a unique experience giving wagon and sleigh rides to people of the Bulkley Valley.  Located 25 minutes east of Smithers, BC; B&T operates a small home business on 160 acres of farm land and mixed timber forest.  Teams of percheron and Belgian workhorses are the power behind the rides but also contribute to the everyday life of managing the farm.

Horse logging in the winter, plowing fields in the spring and fall, cutting and raking hay in the early summer....these horses are a true testament to the strength and ability of their breeds.

In 2014, Breeann (Bryan and Tanis' daughter) and Trevor Doerksen moved to the farm and began working with the business.  Trevor and Bryan are the main teamsters and hosts for your wagon or sleigh ride, Tanis and Breeann manage the bookings.  B&T Rides also travel to various local events from Houston to Prince Rupert, BC.  From Parades to horse pulls; the horses and teamsters are well trained, adaptable and personable.

THE EXPERIENCE

Dashing through the snow is literally what you will be doing as you ride on a handcrafted sleigh, blanketed by soft sheep skins through the gorgeous mixed forest and wide open fields.  Enjoy sweeping views as you listen to the silence, broken only by the sound of sleigh bells.

Enjoy a one and a half hour ride which includes a half hour stop at a cabin nestled in the woods complete with a roaring bonfire, perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying a cup of hot cocoa.

As night falls, the sleigh will light the trail with a genuine lantern.  As you arrive at the cabin, laterns hanging in the trees will delight and amaze you, allowing you to experience a taste of the past.

Wagon rides are as equally special, pack a picnic lunch and travel your way through the backcountry in the spring, summer or fall. Stop to pick berries or mushrooms and take in the silence of the forest.  Wagons (and sleighs) are handmade by Bryan during the long winter days on the farm.
